1. Why should I rent a car through the USAA/Hertz program?
When you rent with Hertz, you receive discounts especially for USAA members. Enjoy additional savings when you use the special USAA coupons.

To ensure you receive your discounted rates, identify yourself as a USAA member by providing your Hertz/USAA Discount Identification Number (CDP#) or any others issued by Hertz for USAA.)

Hertz has dedicated agents who are trained to provide the excellent service you expect from USAA. The Hertz system will automatically search for the lowest rate available when you make your reservation.

Yes, you enjoy the offer and then get your USAA special discount when you use the USAA rental car coupons.

You’ll find coupons on the Hertz website and in select USAA mailings, or you may call the Touchline® request number, 1-800-667-9438.

4. How do I reserve a car?
USAA members can call a special Hertz toll-free number 1-800-654-9141.

5. Can I get the discounts without advance reservations?
Yes you can, although we recommend calling at least 24 hours before you arrive to ensure availability, and as most special offers require an advance reservation.

6. Will I have to pay an additional fee to add my spouse as an additional driver?
You will not be charged an additional driver fee if the additional driver is your spouse or other USAA member.

7. Will renting through USAA’s program affect the frequency/mileage point programs I participate in?
You still qualify for Hertz standard frequency mileage/points under the USAA program.

8. What is the minimum driving age under the USAA Rental Car Program?
Under the USAA program, the minimum age for Hertz rentals is 18 (exceptions may apply).

9. Will I be charged mileage fees?
Mileage fees do apply on some one-way rentals. Unlimited mileage applies to most car classes if rented at a participating location and returned to that same location.

10. If I am in an accident (while renting through the USAA program) what will happen?
If the terms of the rental agreement are not violated and the vehicle is rented at a participating location in the contiguous United States, the following benefits will apply:

• Liability of USAA members and/or their insurance company is limited to the first $5,000 of collision damage to the rental car without purchase of the loss damage waiver. This limit does not apply if the terms of the rental agreement are violated.
• The primary liability remains with the rental car company. Hertz provides primary liability protection, up to $25,000 per person, to a maximum of $50,000 per accident, plus $10,000 for property damages.
• Hertz waives the right to collect damages for the days the rental vehicle was out of service.
• Hertz will not charge the administrative fees for processing a claim on a damaged vehicle.
